This year I am working on being seen and encouraging others to do the same. What does this mean? It means letting go, being your imperfect self, sharing things about yourself, and trusting that your heart is in the right place. At times it feels like work but other times it’s totally liberating.
Connie and Corynn are a perfect example of two people willing to be seen. By me. By their families. By their friends and strangers alike. Their love for each other is so big it spilled out all over the place and caused uncontrollable smiling, dancing, giggling, crying, hugging and so much joy that these photos are just the tip of the iceberg. It is a love that makes you hopeful, have faith in humanity, and gives you the urge to skip everywhere. This love is not just about two women who found each other, it’s about two people who inspire others to be their best selves and to live without regret. It was a great day for everyone present.
And in the spirit of joy I want to give a big shout out to my wife Brett who ran the super duper Foto-Fun Booth, and to Rosie Boyko, a young woman who has been photographing with me this year. Rosie is super talented, an amazing human, and I couldn’t be happier to watch her grow as an artist.
And now, without further ado, Connie and Corynn. Big love to you girls! xoxo
