Martha’s Vineyard Summer Wedding, Private Residence: Peter and Michael

This summer Brett and I celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary. We wanted to do something really special to mark this milestone so…we photographed a wedding. Our original plan was to go to dinner with some friends, which we did, but on our actual anniversary we watched two people so tenderly and lovingly share their commitment for one another in front of their family and friends. It was one of the most beautiful days of the summer, so much so that I kept pinching myself with every twist and turn we took as we drove to Peter and Michael’s beautiful Martha’s Vineyard wedding.

You see, it was just going to be a vacation among two families and then things changed. DOMA was overturned and now it was possible for these two sweet men to spend the rest of their lives together. And so they planned their wedding in short time to celebrate this life they had built. Their ceremony spoke of the historic moments that brought us to where we are today. They performed rituals that celebrated unity. And they exchanged rings and heartfelt vows openly expressing their love for one another. It was pretty great.

I really wanted to share the magic of their day and instead of photos that you scroll through I put together a short slide show with music. My hope was to capture the light, the love and the feeling of family of their day. I hope you’ll take a moment to share in their joy. Much love to you Peter and Michael!
