My connection with Kate and Kathy started a year and a half ago when I participated in a fundraiser in Boston and was having way too much fun with the Foto Fun Booth. We didn’t formally meet that night but eventually they were in touch about their Thompson Island wedding. We had a few phone conversations and while we didn’t actually meet until their engagement session, I knew these ladies were pretty special.
Kate and Kathy have an amazing community of friends and family. When photos from their engagement session went up on Facebook I wondered if they were Boston celebrities and I wasn’t clued in; so much love, so many well wishers. As I got to know these women I realized their genuine warmth and desire to connect with others makes it hard not to want to be with them, besides they are super funny.
Their wedding was held on Thompson Island, an island right off of Boston and home to an Outward Bound Program. It’s a really neat spot with a view of the city and so many great nooks for portraits, so many that I thought Kathy might put me in a headlock if I suggested one more “awesome” photo op. It was a day filled with family and friends who love them; a day of remembering those who were not with them; and so many more moments honoring their commitment to love and life.
