Deerfield Academy Engagement Shoot: Michaela and Edward

Michaela and I first met in New Orleans. Well, I was in New Orleans and she was in Massachusetts and through the wonder of technology we meet via Skype. She even got to meet my family, which is not something I typically do during a first meeting but I think it’s what clinched the deal. Maybe. Okay, all kidding aside we had a great meeting and I got to hear all about her love, Edward. They met at Deerfield Academy and that is exactly where we did their engagement session.

This engagement session almost didn’t happen. When I arrived in Deerfield to meet Michaela and Edward it was raining, there were lots of scary clouds and I saw lighting. I don’t mess with lighting these days so I suggested we do 5 minutes of photos, and then scoot in somewhere to get to know each other better. Well, five minutes led to ten and then about an hour later we were still going with pretty amazing light on our side. When we finally called it quitting time it wasn’t long after the storm finally moved in. Michaela and Edward were so fun and easy to photograph, I felt like I’d known them forever. I can’t wait for their wedding next year at Quonquont Farm in Whately. Much love to you guys!

xo,

This is where they shared their first kiss. I love the sentimentality of this photograph.

Edward had this ring designed for Michaela. The side designs are Celtic and celebrate Michaela’s Irish heritage.

Some standard engagement facial calisthenics. These guys were pros!

Perhaps a little geeky on my part but why not a photo with the famous doors at Deerfield Academy…adorable!
